Project introduction: Qingcaosha Reservoirs locates below the South and North Passagebifurcation of Changjiang estuary, in the north of Changxing Island.It is the drinking water source of Shanghai, but it is Constantly polluted. Itexisted serious eutrophication tendency, with high nitrogen and phosphorusconcentration, which seriously affected the service life of the reservoir andthe safety of Shanghai citizens’ drinking water . The water area of thedemonstration project is 26500m2 and theaverage depth is 2.5m. Before the treatment, water quality reached the standardof surface water Class V, and the transparency was 0.4m. It is supplied byYangzi River.
Purification effects: Ecosystem is improved, the self-purification ability is build, andthe water quality is significantly better than that in comparison pond andreservoir. Main eutrophic indexes (dissolved oxygen, ammonia nitrogen, totalnitrogen, total phosphorus, potassium permanganate index, etc.) reach or betterthan the standard of surface water (GB3838-2002) Class Ⅲ. Watertransparency reaches more than 2.0m.
